Reservations:

In case of non-availability of the selected model, our company reserves the right to provide the customer with another similar vehicle model, which belongs to the same category as the selected model or a larger category car at no charge to the customer.

Driver Age:

Minimum age limit of 23 years for all vehicle categories.

Driving license:

The driver’s license of the rented vehicle must have been issued at least one year before the rental date.

Driving licenses issued by EU & UK are accepted.

If the driver’s license has been issued by another country then the driver must be an holder of an International Driving License.

The International Driving License must be accompanied by the driving license of the country of the driver of the vehicle.

Means of payment:

Payment only in cash.

Payment by card must be preceded by prior receipt of the vehicle (credit, debit, prepaid).

We accept the following cards: (Master Card, VISA, Electron Visa, Maestro).

Rental duration and minimum charge:

The minimum rental period is 2 days.

If the tenant wishes to keep the rental vehicle longer than the period already agreed, he should contact our company to note the extension of the rental of the vehicle in the Lease Agreement, as well as the corresponding charge

If the tenant returns the rental vehicle after the agreed time period then he will be charged extra.

Fuel policy:

The tenant must return the car with the same amount of fuel he received. In case of return of the car with less fuel than the one received by the tenant, the fuel difference is charged. No refund is given if the car is returned with more fuel than received.

24-hour roadside assistance:

Our cars are covered by 24 hour roadside assistance.

In the event that a vehicle is mechanically damaged (which is not due to the use of the renter), the vehicle is replaced by another vehicle of a similar category.

Kilometers:

Our prices include unlimited kilometers.

Baby, Child & Booster Seats:

We have three different types of seats.

1. a) Baby seat for children 0 to 2 years old.
2. b) Child seat for children 2 to 5 years old.
3. c) Booster seat for children 5 to 10 years old.

Seats are available on request and availability.

Additional Drivers:

One additional driver is free of charge.

If you require more than one additional driver the extra cost is 4€/day per driver.

The additional driver must accept the same terms & conditions as the main driver.

VAT and taxes:

All our prices are final and include VAT and taxes.

Delivery & collection of the vehicle outside working hours:

We can deliver or pick up the rental vehicle even outside working hours (23:00 – 08:00) with an additional charge of 25.00 € / receipt or delivery.

Traffic violations, traffic fines, and Administrative Sanctions:

The renter is liable for the payment of all traffic fines and appended administrative sanctions that may result from any violation of the Greek Traffic Law during the rental period.

Booking Cancellation:

In case of cancellation 2 weeks in advance, there is no charge. If canceled 5 days in advance, 30% of the agreed amount will be deducted. There is also no charge if canceled due to flight delay.

Booking Modification:

No time limit and subject to availability

No Show:

If the renter does not pick up the vehicle at the agreed day and time, without prior written notice at info@carisland.gr the reservation will be canceled after 3 hours. In this case, the renter charged one-day rental.

This term does not apply for flight delays or ship delays.

In case of flight delay or ship delay the renter (if possible) has to inform us about the delay.

Road Accident:

In case of a road accident, you have to inform our company immediately and also the police. The police will record the accident, and you have to get a copy of the police report.

Without a police report, the renter takes full responsibility.

Across the Border Rental:

You are not allowed to drive or transport our cars outside Greece.

Vehicle use – rental outside Crete:

You are not allowed to drive or transport our cars outside Crete.

Animals and pets:

They are not allowed in cars.

Motorbikes Insurances:

Third Party Insurance (TPI ):

Included in the rental price.

The renter’s liability covered for material damages, for death and for bodily injuries to third parties.

Cars Insurances:

Third Party Insurance (TPI ):

Includes in the rental cost.

The renter’s liability covered for material damages, for death and for bodily injuries to third parties.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

Includes in the rental cost.

This insurance covers the driver and the passengers in case of an accident.

Fire Insurance (F.P.):

Included in the rental price

Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.):

Included in the rental price

With this insurance in case of damage the tenant’s liability is limited to the amount of liability. The liability amount is € 300 for all vehicle categories.

This insurance covers damage to glass (windshields, mirrors) but does not cover damage to tires, wheels and the underside of the vehicle.

Warranty Amount for Full Damage Waiver F.D.W. with minimum excess:

Upon receipt of the vehicle the driver must have a credit card in his name which will be used as collateral. The liability amount (300 €) will be deducted from this card. This amount will no longer be available for immediate use on your card and can take up to 14 days to release, depending on your bank.

Theft insurance (T.P.):

Included in F.D.W. and covers the tenant for partial or total loss of the car. It does not cover cases where the theft was caused by the tenant’s negligence (eg leaving the key in the engine, or in the car). This insurance also does not cover the theft or loss of the tenant’s personal belongings.

Vehicle Cleaning Charge:

If the car on return is very dirty then you will be charged for the cleaning of the vehicle 60 € with VAT.

What is not covered by any insurance:

• Damages due to traffic law violation.
• Damages due to inappropriate driving or negligence.
• Damages that caused because the driver was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
• Damages caused by an unauthorized driver.
• Damages in the interior of the car
• Loss or Damage or Theft of Keys. In this case, there is a charge of € 150.
• Loss or Damage of the vehicle’s child seats, jack, safety triangle, spare wheel, petrol cap.
• Damage to the engine through negligence
• Damage to the engine by wrong fuel
• Damages that caused because the vehicle was used off-road or in not appropriate roads
• Damages that caused after the agreed return time.
• Damages that caused willfully or recklessly by the renter e.g. (burning out the clutch, burning out the tires, sitting or standing on the bonnet, or the roof or the boot lid of the vehicle.
• Damage caused by accident and our company and police not notified at the time of the accident.
